Michell Robertson

Michell returns for her 11th year of coaching club volleyball. This will be her eighth season with Circle City and her three earlier years was with Sky High Volleyball Club. Over the previous ten years, she has coached 15,16 and 17-year-old teams. She has coached more than 55 athletes that have continued their volleyball career at the collegiate level. Michell has qualified 8 of her 10 club teams to play at Nationals. She has had 12 top 5 finishes at National Qualifiers and finished in the top 11 at Nationals 3 times.

As head coach at Bloomington High School North in 2005, Michell coached the Cougars to a 30-7 record, won a Sectional title and set a school record for longest winning streak in any sport and finished fifth in state. She has also assisted at Avon High School and Crystal Lake High School, her alma mater.

As a player, Michell led her high school team to 2nd and 5th place state finishes in ‘95 and ‘96. She received All-State, All-Area, All-Conference, and various team and tournament awards in high school. She played six years for Sky High Volleyball Club in Illinois. Her teams qualified five times for Nationals in the open division and she was awarded All-American honors at AAU’s in 1997. She continued her career at MCC where she was awarded All-Conference and All-American honors in 1997 and Conference Most Valuable Player and All-American honors in 1998. Michell led MCC to their first ever appearance at NJCAA Nationals in 1998 and was inducted into the school’s first ever Hall of Fame in 2004. She was also inducted into the Skyway Conference Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Region IV Hall of Fame in 2006.

Michell is happily married to husband, Willie, and has a five-year old son, Connor, and a two-year old son, Nolan.
