John Armuth

John has been coaching at Circle City since the 2000 season. In those 9 years, he has been an assistant coach at 15’s through 18’s. He has helped teams qualify for the Open division at JO’s 4 times. The 18’s team in 2001 finished 3rd, and the 17 and Under team in 2003 finished 5th.  In 2000, his 15 and under team finished 15th, and in 2004 his 17’s team finished 11th. He has helped 3 other teams qualify for the Club Division.

John has been coaching since the fall of 1979. He started at Brownstown Central High School as a Freshman Coach,  moving to the varsity job in 1982. In 1983, the team won the sectional, regional and semi-state. Along the way they defeated schools 3-4 times the size of BCHS. He finished his coaching career at BCHS with 7 straight conference titles. From 1991-1999 he was a coach and club director at SCIVA, a small club based in Columbus. SCIVA qualified 5 teams for JO’s including a fifth place 14 Open finish in 1994, and a 16 Club second place finish in 1999.

His real job is a Technology teacher at Brownstown Central Middle School.  In addition to that job, he is one of the Hoosier Region’s representatives to the Juniors Division of USA Volleyball. He has served on the Administrative Council of that group since 2000.
