Eric Bulmahn
Eric brings an impressive coaching and playing resume to Circle City.
Eric's volleyball career at Ball State began as an outside hitter, but ended as a starting Middle Blocker for the 9th ranked Cardinals.
Eric’s playing career includes:
- Captain in 1986
- All Conference in 1986
- NCAA Final Four in 1985
- 5 years on the Midwest Professional Volleyball Association Beach Circuit (94-99)
- Starting OH and MB for Ball State
- All-American in 1991 - Open division at US Nationals
Coach Bulmahn began his coaching career as an assistant to Don Shondell for the Ball State Men's team in 1987.
Players under Eric's tutelage earned All-American status, and have gone on to have successful D1 collegiate coaching careers of their own.
This will be Eric's 15th year coaching at Circle City with age groups ranging from the 15 to 18.
Prior teams have won 5 qualifier championships and finished in the top 4 of Open qualifiers 11 times.
The 2006 17's team, and 2007 18's team, finished ranked 5th and 10th in the United States respectively.
More than 80 of Eric’s former players have earned scholarships to schools in the PAC 10, Big 10, Southern Belt, OVC, SEC, Big East, MAC and many others.
Eric stresses teaching the proper fundamentals in developing the all-around skills needed to compete in college.
Eric has worked many college camps including Purdue’s Elite outside attacking lead instructor and Purdue team camp where his Elkhart Memorial teams have won 4 camp championships.
Referee Bulmahn also has been a Men's and Women's collegiate referee for 24 years with 4 NCAA Final Four Selections.
His personal life focuses around his wife of 18 years, Monica, and their 3 daughters: Jaclyn (14), Victoria (11), and Cecilia (9).
Eric’s daily profession is to help companies utilize Business Intelligence to provide timely, actionable information.
