Emily Hawthorne

Emily’s coaching career started in 1999 as a 16s coach at Hoosier Heartland Volleyball Club and a student coach for the Indiana University Volleyball Team. At the age of 20, Emily took over as the varsity coach at her alma mater, West Lafayette High School. In 2005 and 2006, she led Western Boone to two 21-win seasons, a conference championship, and was named Boone County Coach of the year. Emily is currently the head coach at Zionsville High School, a program she’s led since 2007. This season, Emily earned her 100th career victory as a varsity head coach.

Emily comes to Circle City with 10 years of club coaching experience, including five seasons as a National Team head coach at Indy Juniors and Performance Point. Most recently Emily founded the Junior Eagles Volleyball Club, a youth program for the Zionsville community. Emily recently received the AVCA’s 30 Under Thirty award, which recognizes the top thirty coaches under 30 years of age. Emily has her Impact and CAP I accreditation through USA Volleyball.

As a player, Emily was a four-year varsity starter at West Lafayette High School and was named to the All-Area and All-Conference teams during the 1996 and 1997 seasons. Emily began playing at the Lafayette Area Volleyball Association at age twelve and participated in three Junior National Championships.

Emily resides in Zionsville with her husband, Steve, and his 10-year-old daughter, Cori.
